language is life-saving
Over the years, many of our users asked if our language tutors teach English… especially in the context of supporting newly arrived refugees. As NaTakallam has expanded its reach to other displaced communities, we are thrilled to announce that NaTakallam offers English language sessions to individual users, refugees, organizations & more!
The sessions are taught by bilingual instructors from displaced backgrounds, who are fluent in either Arabic, Armenian (Western), Persian, Spanish or Turkish, & have extensive experience in English language instruction. Notably, through their shared background in relation to conflict & displacement, coupled with their common tongue, they are able to connect better with learners!
In 2015, NaTakallam was born out of Lebanon to support highly-skilled Syrian refugees access an income by teaching Arabic to learners online.
Thus, the idea of NaTakallam came to life, pioneering the concept of leveraging the digital economy & refugees’ language skills to provide language services to users worldwide, who, through their engagement, help support displaced persons’ livelihoods.
